The forces of digital transformation continue unabated despite the speed bumps, mis-steps and hurdles faced by early movers and big adopters. Despite the strong US economy with record low unemployment, equity, crypto and real estate markets saw weakness this month. GE continues to retrench its operations, planning to sell off assets, despite the meaningful advances of its Digital unit in establishing thought leadership around Industrial IoT. Meanwhile, progress continues unabated.

Market forecasts continue to anticipate robust growth in the IoT spending. Security remains a key hurdle for companies, but new legislation in California takes aim at manufacturers to incentivize designing security into systems. We continue to be optimistic about value creation from Connected Industry, as our conversations with investors and practitioners continue to reinforce our bullish outlook.
